I have never been so poorly treated at a doctors office like I was here at Vermont Orthopedic Clinic. At my first appointment I went in knowing that I had a multiple fracture in the 5th metacarpal. I saw a PA Dan something, who in my opinion needs more training. He left me in a two week old splint that I received at the emergency room when the incident first occurred. This caused me a great deal of pain as the initial swelling had receded, allowing my hand to move within the splint. (In my opinion I should have been given a new splint or a cast). Also, this PA never took any new x-rays, he only looked at the x-rays from the emergency room, which were two weeks old. New ones should have been taken to see if the fractures had started to heal, remained the same, or got worse.
When I wanted a second opinion from an actual Doctor, she finally took new x-rays, but all she did, regardless of how shocked she was with the x-ray, was put a piece of tape on my two fingers, told me if I was a pessimist to come back in a month or so, if I was an optimist to not come back at all. (This doctor was very rude, as well as her receptionist staff! Wouldn't look at me when talking, paperwork that I needed to fill out was harshly handed to me. Also waited an hour and a half just to be seen).
So I went and got a third opinion, down in Bennington. They were appalled by Rutlands actions and behavior. Immediately took new x-rays and had a new splint put on.
A lot of people say Rutland is known for their exceptional service....I didn't experience any of that.
